Community and educational screenings are a powerful way to bring audiences together to engage with the film’s themes of service, trauma, healing and resilience.

The film is streaming on NETFLIX, so all you need is a Netflix account, a place to screen, and adherence to the Terms & Conditions below.

To help make your screening a success, we encourage you to use our comprehensive DISCUSSION/EDUCATION GUIDE, which provides background information on the topics in the film as well as detailed discussion topics to deepen the conversation.

Terms & conditions

IN WAVES AND WAR community and educational screenings are for groups of up to 20 people and must adhere to the following terms and conditions:

  • The film will be streamed via Netflix using a paid subscription account.

  • The screening must be non-profit and non-commercial. This means there can be no admission charged, fundraising, or soliciting of donations, nor can social media be used to raise funds. There can be no advertising or commercial sponsorships in connection with the screening. The film is for educational and awareness purposes only.

  • The documentary shall not be screened at any political campaign events and/or electoral campaigning events.

  • The use of Netflix’s logos in promotion for the screening, or anything else that indicates that the screening is “official” or endorsed by Netflix, is prohibited.

  • For any events larger than 20 people, Actual Films requires you to fill out the Screening Request Form.

  • With agreement to these terms, and to the extent your institution requires you to demonstrate that you have a license for your screening, please show them this page: Netflix Grant of Permission for Educational Screenings
